BLUE DEPENDENCE
. . . through personal entries in a journal, a young woman tells her story of addiction . . .
Backstory:
In early 2017 dancer and choreographer, Eva Kolarova, contracted RLP’s filmmaker, Paolo A. Santos, to conceptualize and create the video projections for her show, Blue Dependence. The project was about addiction—represented as the colour blue—in the life of a young woman struggling to navigate through her world of trauma.
After many discussion with Eva recounting experiences, Paolo was transported into the story’s universe, and the final result was an intimate, fragile and beautifully-vulnerable journey—with hints of violence and darkness—into a psyche trying to find solace.
Paolo, who became really invested in the project, also wrote the voice-over text for the show.
Blue Dependence was presented at the Place Des Arts in Montreal and received with many praises.
